According to US Metric Association there are but 3 countries that do not use the metric system and they are the United States, Liberia (in western Africa) and Burma (also known as Myanmar, in Southeast Asia). The metric system is the de facto standard for the sciences and many industries use it. There is not so much to say as the benefits are pretty well know. As an American I find this a great thing. The US has slowly moved toward metric systems. Why put ourselves behind. We may want to adopt the American Imperial system as an offical second or just drop it completely. If we adopt it we will want to post a page that handles conversions for those of us that are do not use the Metric System currently.
